Mr. Leighton Jayasekara

Pavilion Project major donor Mr. Leighton Jayasekara passed away on Thursday March 8th.  His passion inspired such a beautiful project for Minnesota Sri Lanka Friendship Foundation and he will be greatly missed.

We worked hard to meet a March 30th deadline, hoping to have Mr. Jayasekera present at the handing over ceremony. However due to health issues we are unfortunately not able to have him present as we hoped.  His Spirit will always be with us as the project brought him great joy. One of the first concerns he inquired about after finding out about his declining health was the pavilion project. He loved the project and was looking forward to see the children using the pavilion

His positive attitude and impassioned vigor toward contributing and being a driving force in this Project has been  admirable and MnSLFF is filled with gratitude and honor to work with such a gentleman. In his honor, we will complete the project as promised with assistance from his niece, Chandrika Ratnayake. Thank you again Mr. Leighton Jayasekara. We send so much love and many blessings in these potent times of change and deep grieving to his beloved wife Chryshanti  and their family. May their sadness be lifted and may they be filled with the peace and honor that Mr. Leighton be known for. and deep grieving to his beloved wife Chryshanti  and their family.  Corona Virus effects Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is  effected by the Corona Virus (Covid 19) epidemic. The public is requested to refrain from gatherings, and movements during the declared holidays and curfew hours.  We are experiencing delays in getting the workers and  the materials delivered to the site as scheduled. Under the above circumstances, to comply with the government regulations, pavilion project deadline will be extended,
